Ingredients
For the Waffles:
1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
1 tbsp matcha powder
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1 1/4 cups (300ml) milk (dairy or plant-based)
1/4 cup (60ml) melted butter or vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
For Serving:
Whipped cream
Fresh fruits (e.g., strawberries, blueberries, or kiwi)
Maple syrup or honey
Instructions
Preheat the Waffle Iron:
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Combine the Wet Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and whisk in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract (if using).
Make the Batter:
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
Cook the Waffles:
Lightly grease the waffle iron with butter or cooking spray. Pour enough batter into the waffle iron to fill the grates without overflowing. Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden and crisp, typically 3–5 minutes.
Serve:
Top the waffles with whipped cream, fresh fruits, and a drizzle of syrup or honey.
Enjoy these vibrant Matcha Waffles as a stunning and delicious breakfast or brunch option!
