Matcha Pancakes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp matcha powder

  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 3/4 cup (180ml) milk

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 tbsp melted butter or neutral oil

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Toppings (Optional)

  • Maple syrup

  • Whipped cream

  • Fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter:

    • In a bowl, sift together the flour, matcha powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

    • In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

    • Gradually combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the pancakes fluffy.

  2. Cook the Pancakes:

    • Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil.

    • Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2 minutes. Flip and cook the other side for 1–2 minutes, or until golden.

  3. Serve:

    • Stack the pancakes on a plate, drizzle with maple syrup, and top with whipped cream and fresh berries.
