Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

  • 2 tbsp tahini

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (plus extra for garnish)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp matcha powder (adjust to taste)

  • 2–3 tbsp water (for consistency)

Optional Garnishes:

  • Olive oil drizzle

  • Sesame seeds

  • Fresh mint leaves

  • A sprinkle of matcha powder

Instructions

  1. Blend the Ingredients:

    • In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and matcha powder.

    • Blend until smooth, gradually adding water to reach your desired consistency.

  2. Adjust Seasoning:

    • Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt, lemon juice, or matcha for balance.

  3. Serve:

    • Spoon the matcha hummus into a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and garnish with sesame seeds, mint leaves, and a sprinkle of matcha powder.

    • Serve with pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
