Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk (dairy or plant-based)

  • 1 tsp matcha powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

  • 1–2 tsp sugar or honey (optional)

  • 4 slices of bread (brioche or thick-cut preferred)

  • Butter or oil for cooking

  • Toppings: powdered sugar, fresh fruits, syrup, or whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Matcha Egg Mixture:

    • In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, matcha powder, vanilla extract, and sugar or honey (if using) until smooth and the matcha is fully dissolved.

  2. Soak the Bread:

    • Dip each slice of bread into the mixture, ensuring both sides are fully coated. Let the bread soak for about 10–20 seconds, depending on its thickness.

  3. Cook the French Toast:
