Ingredients
2 large eggs
1/2 cup (120ml) milk (dairy or plant-based)
1 tsp matcha powder
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
1–2 tsp sugar or honey (optional)
4 slices of bread (brioche or thick-cut preferred)
Butter or oil for cooking
Toppings: powdered sugar, fresh fruits, syrup, or whipped cream
Instructions
Prepare the Matcha Egg Mixture:
In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, matcha powder, vanilla extract, and sugar or honey (if using) until smooth and the matcha is fully dissolved.
Soak the Bread:
Dip each slice of bread into the mixture, ensuring both sides are fully coated. Let the bread soak for about 10–20 seconds, depending on its thickness.
Cook the French Toast:
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt a small amount of butter or oil.
Place the soaked bread onto the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and slightly crisp.
Serve:
Transfer the French toast to a plate and add your favorite toppings, such as powdered sugar, fresh fruits, syrup, or whipped cream.
