Ingredients
For the Donuts:
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp matcha powder
2 large eggs
3/4 cup (180ml) milk
1/4 cup (60ml) vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Matcha Glaze:
1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
1–2 tsp matcha powder (adjust to taste)
2–3 tbsp milk
Instructions
Prepare the Donuts:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan or line a baking tray for frying.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and matcha powder.
In a separate bowl, mix the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract.
Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, stirring until just blended. Avoid overmixing.
Bake or Fry:
To Bake: Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
To Fry: Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Pipe the batter onto parchment squares. Fry until golden, 1–2 minutes per side. Cool on a wire rack.
Prepare the Glaze:
In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and matcha powder. Add milk one tablespoon at a time until the glaze reaches your desired consistency.
Decorate:
Dip the tops of the donuts into the glaze and let excess drip off. Place on a wire rack to set. Optionally, sprinkle with sesame seeds or shredded coconut for extra flair.
Enjoy your delicious matcha donuts!
