200g (7 oz) white chocolate, chopped (use high-quality for best results)
1 tsp matcha powder (adjust to taste)
2 tbsp nuts (e.g., almonds, pistachios, or cashews), roughly chopped
2 tbsp dried fruits (e.g., cranberries, raisins, or apricots), finely chopped
Optional: Edible flowers or a sprinkle of sea salt for garnish
Instructions
Prepare Your Workspace:
Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper.
Have your toppings ready for quick assembly.
Melt the Chocolate:
Use a double boiler: Place a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water, ensuring the bottom of the bowl doesn’t touch the water.
Add the white chocolate and stir occasionally until fully melted.
Alternatively, microwave the chocolate in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
Mix the Matcha:
Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl to remove lumps.
Once the chocolate is melted, transfer 2–3 tbsp to the matcha and mix until smooth. This ensures the matcha blends evenly.
Create the Bark:
Pour the plain white chocolate onto the prepared parchment paper, spreading it into an even layer (about 1/4 inch thick) using a spatula.
Drizzle the matcha mixture over the white chocolate in thin lines or dollops.
Swirl for Design:
Use a toothpick or skewer to create swirls by dragging it through the matcha and white chocolate.
Add Toppings:
Sprinkle your chopped nuts, dried fruits, and any other garnishes over the chocolate before it sets.
Cool and Harden:
Allow the bark to cool at room temperature or place it in the fridge for about 30 minutes until fully set.
Break and Serve:
Once hardened, break the bark into pieces of your desired size.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week (or longer if refrigerated).
Enjoy your beautifully swirled matcha chocolate bark—perfect as a treat or gift! 🍵🍫✨
